Why? Because it sounds great! Owned by one of the founders of one of Australia’s most iconic surf bands, this vintage 100 watt bass combo delivers a punchy and warm vintage tube sound that is a testament to the clear signs of use. It just proves that these simple turret board hand wired old Fender amps really do go forever.

The Fender Bassman amp has a long legacy as being not just a great bass amp, but a great guitar amp also. The 100 Watt versions, introduced in 1972 represent considerably more headroom than the previous 50 watt iterations, but are still hand wired, tube driven, and very pedal friendly.

The cabinet itself shows separation from the top and sides. As the heavy components of the amp are directly bolted to the handle, this presents minimal risk when picking up the amp. This amp is a strong candidate for a re-tolex with some structural repairs along the way. The front grille cloth is in surprisingly good shape considering everything else, with one tear visible below the master volume.

This amp has had its fair share of service work over the years and a number of pots, and capacitors have been replaced. The original pots and transformers present a date range from 1973 to 1975. More chassis pictures can be supplied upon request from serious inquiries.

This has one functioning output channel, which uses a handmade 1/4 jack to XLR lead to power the EV cab. The sound is a punchy, big sound that drives when volume is cranked.

This amp represents one of the last years of classic Fender, before the shift to printed circuit boards, but it can still be had for a decent price - a real sleeper in the vintage market.

The full details of the speaker cab are currently unknown, however it is believed to retain the original speaker which is fully functional. We can dismantle and investigate further for serious inquiries, otherwise it is sold as-is.

The Bassman Head and EV Cab can be sold separately at $1699 for the head and $200 for the EV cabinet.

Brand: Fender
Model: Bassman 100
Country: USA
Year: 1975
Serial: B 04448:
Power Output: 100 Watts
Speakers: N/A
Tubes: 12AX7 (x2), 12AT7 (x1), 6L6GC (x4)
Covering: Black Tolex
Cab Material: Pine box, Particle Board Back
Accessories: 1/4 to XLR output jack
Dimensions: 67x24x25cm
Weight: 19kg

Another offering from one of our favourite Sydney guitar makers. This Andy Taylor Custom is a semi hollow flat top which tips the hat to a the Gibson, Gretsch and Fender designs to come out of the late 1950s and early 60s. These style cues, with Andy’s signature flair and attention to detail make this both an eye catching instrument and a killer guitar in its own right.

The body shape, which has a bit of a Gibson ES335 style, also has a bit of a Tele thinline flair to it. This is due to the flat top semi hollow construction with string through body routing. The strings rest on a Gibson “Nashville” style adjustable bridge which is subtly routed into the body for a more streamlined feel. The pickups are both TV Jones Filtertrons - the kind that Brian Setzer has in practically all of his signature Gretsch guitars. Having considerably higher fidelity than most Gibson Humbuckers, these TV Jones Filtertrons are punchy, clear with that great Gretsch sparkle which makes excellent for country, rock, and blues.

This instrument features an array of exotic materials. The body is Black Limba, with a highly figured solid Casuarina top. The Casuarina cap is inset from the edge with gold trim and off white double binding at the edges. The neck is figured maple with 3 mahogany laminations, which aside from looking great, give this neck tremendous stability. The figured maple neck is nicely matched with a figured maple fretboard medium jumbo frets and off white binding.

The neck has a medium to slightly thick C profile with a nut width of 43.6mm. An internal acoustic sensor, a visible hum bucking bridge pickup and a discreet, under top neck hum bucking pickup. These are controlled by a 5 way switch on the top side, and three small dials (volume, bass and treble) on the top. The hollow construction of this instrument gives decent natural acoustic projection without being plugged in. This 2017 model features two f holes and top mounted tone and volume. Later Pro models have one F hole, and volume and tone controls on the lower bout.

The acoustic sound of this instrument is pure, clear and high fidelity. While traditional acoustics struggle with feedback and pickup placement issues, the Taylor T5z Pro was designed around the pickup platform for the best possible sonic outcome. As well as having stellar acoustic tones, the bridge pickup has a bright, almost tele like twang, without the hum. The neck pickup, while also being a hum bucker, has, in the default tonal position, a clear, single coil-esque tone. The instrument features a standard 1/4 inch output jack for conventional use, as well as a 24 pin digital output (lead included). This plugs into the Roland GR-700 digital synthesizer, giving you a startling array of sonic options to explore.

This guitar, built in late 1982, is in excellent condition. The only obvious signs of use is from the missing brown paint on the pickup covers, exposing an attractive gold/chrome plating underneath.

The guitar has very sound and solid construction. Quite Les Paul esque in feel, the guitar has a weight of 3.93kg or 8.66 lbs which puts it on the lighter side of LP territory. The medium/slim feel of the neck and super low, straight action with no fret wear issues make this guitar very easy on the hands. It is strung up currently with 10-46 D’Addario strings.

This is a complete package, with the guitar, 24 pin lead and 1984 GR-700 all combined for sale. It has recently been serviced by Roland authorised service agents at LoFi Music, with 6 brand new AR80017A voice chips and recalibration to factory specs. The unit is in great functional and cosmetic condition.

There is no noteworthy damage to report on either the guitar or floor unit. This 17" wide, full scale cremona burst jazz box is a joy to play. Guitars that are great to play tend to get played a lot, and there is evidence of that with this example.

This guitar has had its share of maintenance and repairs over the years. It has had a refret with medium jumbo frets, a replacement vintage tailpiece, replacement pick guard, an early neck reset, which has been over sprayed upon reinstallation. In the years just after WW2 it was not uncommon for Gibson to mix and match materials based on availability. This guitar has a mahogany neck, though its not uncommon to see examples of this year with a maple neck. The guitar features vintage kluson “no oil port” fully sealed tuners - which were one of the first iterations of the closed back Klusons, which began to appear in the mid 40s. A couple of these sit slightly askew of the tuner footprint and could be replacements, though they are period correct for this instrument.

There is a long crack along the side of the instrument on the treble side waist. This has been repaired a long time ago and is structurally sound.

Despite the repairs, the important parts of this guitar are all there. This is a solid, well maintained workhorse. There’s no feeling of frailty to the guitar and its easy to forget this is a legitimate golden age 40s Gibson archtop. There is no perceivable sinking of the top. The binding is in great shape as are the original Brazilian rosewood bridge and fretboard. With a thickness of 20.5mm at the first fret, the neck is thin enough to feel fast and comfortable for most players. The neck is straight with a good low action and a comfortable medium C profile with a reasonably wide nut width of 44.3mm. The cremona burst has aged into a beautiful amber patina. The tone of this guitar is warm and woody with nice P90 clarity. It is strung up with 11-50 flatwounds.

This guitar comes with a sturdy Hiscox hard shell case in near new condition.

This may be the perfect player grade 1940s Gibson jazz box. This is a classy instrument with tons of vintage appeal. A great vintage Gibson at a price you might never see again.

______________________________

Brand: Gibson
Model: ES-300
Country: USA
Year: 1946
Serial: N/A
Case: HSC
Body Colour: Cremona Burst
Neck Colour: Burst Early Refinish
Finish Type: Nitro
Body Material: Maple
Neck Material: Mahogany
Fretboard Material: Brazilian Rosewood
Scale Length: 25.5"
Frets: 20
Fretboard Radius: 12”
Action (Low E): 2mm
Neck Profile: Med/Thick C
Nut Width: 44.3mm
12th Fret Width: 54.1mm
1st Fret Depth: 20.5mm
12th Fret Depth: 23.3mm
Pickups: P90
Resistance: 8.85k
Electronics: Volume/Tone
Knobs: Original Clear
Pick Guard: Repro 5 ply Black
Hardware: Nickel
Weight: 2.78kg
Mods/Repairs: Crack repair along waist - treble side, early neck reset and refinish back of neck, refret, reproduction pick guard, strap button at heel

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0572/7489/2350/files/1GibsonES-300HollowBodyGuitarCremonaBurstUSA1946.jpg?v=1777013940
1999-gibson-sj-200-natural-usa
Gibson SJ-200 Acoustic Guitar | Natural | USA | 1999

This Gibson SJ-200 is a fabulous looking, punchy sounding rhythm machine.
