Hearkening back to the extremely rare and sought after Gibson "Advanced Jumbo" guitars of the mid 1930s, the Epiphone AJ-100 VS is a loud, attractive and affordable acoustic guitar with classic looks and big sound. Similar to the instantly recognizable Gibson J-45, the Advanced Jumbo model features the same slope shouldered, large body, but with a longer 25.5" scale length. This combination yields a brighter tone and typically louder projection over a standard J-45.
The slender neck and laminated spruce top make this an ideal beginner instrument, with ease of playing and good projection from the large dreadnought body. Mahogany back and sides and neck with rosewood fretboard round out this guitar with a classic selection of tone woods, commonly found on much higher grade instruments.
This 2011 model guitar is in almost new condition and plays very well. The finish is in great shape with no noteworthy marks or blemishes. The chrome appointments are free of pitting, and the top is nice and flat with virtually no belly bulge. This guitar is structurally sound and ready to be enjoyed.
This is a great student level guitar that sounds good, is easy to play and has a classic look and feel. What more could you want?
