A striking Gibson Firebird V, built in the Gibson Nashville plant in 2012. This eye catching instrument in classic white nitro features the original ‘Reverse’ body design. At 7.6lbs this large instrument is respectably light and very comfortably balanced. It retains all the original hardware including a killer set of powerful and articulate Firebird pickups. These high fidelity pickups are not to be confused with standard mini Gibson humbuckers, as their internal design is drastically different, yielding a very pleasing, big sound with plenty of top end detail.
This guitar is in really great shape. Structurally very solid with minimal wear on its classic white nitro finish. There are a few small marks as evidenced in the photos. One on the top of the headstock, one at the base of the lower bout, near the strap button, and one near the middle of the back. There is light checking on the back of the headstock and also subtle checking marks around the pickups and neck heel.
This instrument has a lovely wide neck at almost 1 3/4” at the nut. This relatively slim but wide neck is very comfortable and conducive to easy lead playing. With solid through neck construction, minimal (if any) fret wear and straight neck, this instrument not only has a great tone but the kind of singing sustain that a high quality Gibson is renowned for.
Comes with an original Gibson Snakeskin Firebird case with crushed white interior. This is a stunning piece for the collector or serious rock and roller.
