Andy Taylor is a guitar maker working out of Sydney’s Northern Beaches. His meticulous approach to guitar making has yielded not only some beautiful examples of craftsmanship, but also some of the nicest playing, nicest sounding contemporary Australian made guitars you are likely to find.
This semi hollow body instrument features a stunning selection of woods and hardware, all finished to exacting specifications. This guitar boasts a semi hollow mahogany body with AAAA grade maple cap. The cap is finished in a teal stained nitrocelulous lacquer with clear nitro at the edges to showcase a rim of highly figured maple around the edge of the top.
The neck of this guitar is a slightly slim but very comfortable 42mm at the nut with a neck depth of 19.5mm. The mahogany neck with AAAA figured maple fretboard, combined with a slightly longer 25” scale length gives the notes a degree of spank and snap which give the feel somewhere between a Les Paul and a Telecaster. The warm but airy tone of the two PRS humbuckers round this out as being a sophisticated contemporary instrument with a high degree of versatility.
This guitar was made in 2022 and has not been available for sale until now - and for a very affordable price. Considering the time, skill and cost of materials involved, this is an exceptional piece of Australian craftsmanship. This is a special guitar and wont last long!
