Gibson 1954 Les Paul Reissue - Gold Top - 2002
Gibson 1954 Les Paul Reissue - Gold Top - 2002
Here is a beautiful reissue 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. This example is from the "good wood" era of Gibson in the early 2000s, when Gibson had access to some of the finest materials in modern guitar making history. At 8.7lbs (3.9kgs) this Les Paul is relatively light for a non chambered, traditional Les Paul. The deep reds and swirly figuring on the rosewood fretboard are quite beautiful and a testament to why they call this the "good wood" era of Gibson.
Two well balanced Gibson P90s provide a crisp and biting rock tone on the bridge and a thick, bluesy howl on the neck pickup. There is a 0.022 uF over the neck pickup which attenuates some of the low end over the neck pickup and is a good reason why these pickups sound so well balanced.
There are some marks and light chips here and there, as evidenced in the photos. A guitar this good deserves to be played, and it has been!
Comes with an aftermarket Epiphone Les Paul case. Otherwise this guitar is stock and a great example what makes a good Les Paul so special.
